Koehn Construction Services completely transformed the land surrounding the CW Ranch, and the new building was seamlessly integrated into the property. Multiple teams worked together on the Axis Inn project to ensure the final result reflected the desired aesthetic. The interior features modern finishes, which contribute to the welcoming atmosphere. The hotel was completed in just seven months, from initial site preparation to the final landscaping, showcasing the efficiency and dedication of the entire project team.
Koehn Construction Services began the Axis Inn project with extensive site preparation, transforming a rough, dense overgrown pasture into a construction-ready location through clearing, rock and soil excavation, utility extensions, road construction, and foundation pours—all just to begin the building process.
This Design/Build project was a collaborative effort between our Pre-Construction and Design teams. The Axis Inn was designed with light gauge steel construction and features an elevated concrete deck. Once the foundation was complete, the Koehn crew worked tirelessly to bring the vision to life and deliver the project on schedule.
Located just four miles outside of Fredonia—a rural Kansas town of roughly 2,000 residents—the Axis Inn stands as a unique destination and valuable addition to the area. The owner envisioned a peaceful retreat where guests could escape their daily routine, enjoy the natural beauty of the countryside, and take part in activities like hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation. This newly built Inn offers a charming setting for events, weddings, family reunions, and weekend getaways in a serene, secluded environment.
