Eligibility
Koehn has been building commercial and industrial projects since 2003 - and our internship program puts you in the middle of that work. You'll spend time on job sites and in the office, learning from the people who plan, manage, and build it. You leave with real experience that actually shows up on a resume.
Our summer internship runs 12 weeks, typically May through August, with full-time hours averaging 40 to 45 hours per week. We work with students who are taking summer classes on a case-by-case basis.
To be eligible, you need to be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled in a technical school, two-year, or four-year program. Interns who maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher are eligible for a scholarship.
We actively recruit from Pittsburg State, OSU, OU, Tulsa Tech, and local programs including Fredonia, Chanute, and Independence High Schools and Independence Community College. However, you are not required to attend one of these specific schools to be eligible.

Hands-On Training
You'll join a labor crew, ride along with experienced employees, shadow the positions you're most interested in, and tour active job sites.

A Mentor in Your Corner
Every intern is paired with a mentor, with weekly mentorship meetings built into the program. You'll report directly to a crew foreman and have regular touchpoints to track your development.

Relocation isn't a barrier. KCS offers a housing and transportation stipend so you can focus on the work.
