Koehn Construction Services partnered with Tanganyika Wildlife Park in Goddard, Kansas, to construct a 4,100-square-foot addition designed to create new interactive experiences between guests and animals, located adjacent to the park's existing main penguin pool area.

Swimming With Otters

A highlight of the project is the new Otter Swim Encounter, giving visitors the chance to enter a specially designed pool and interact, swim, and play with otters in a controlled environment. The addition includes two otter enclosures and a dedicated otter interaction pool built specifically for the guest experience.

The project also adds a penguin interaction pool, an entry area with aquarium displays, and a dedicated changing area for visitors taking part in the water encounters. Both pools feature prism skylights that let in natural light above each encounter room.
